“I have met really talented people in the Nashville tech community through this user group. These meetings bring together business users and BI professionals to stay up to date on enhancements, latest trends and new services in Excel and Power BI. I walk away from every meeting with something new and valuable that I can apply to my projects. As a member, I really enjoy being a able to share, collaborate, and hear new ideas from other Excel and Power BI enthusiasts.”

In this month’s meeting, Michael presented a high-level overview of Microsoft’s new service, Microsoft Flow. He highlighted its multiple capabilities and focused on its key feature of automating tasks. Michael also shared simple, relevant demos to grasp the tool and included practical examples to help users begin automating within their own organizations. For example, he explained how to trigger a Flow with a Power BI Alert and send a notification to anyone with the value that triggered the alert initially. This tool is becoming increasingly popular, as Office 365 subscribers have access to Microsoft Flow for free.
